The presenter from the Technology Strategy Board that drives innovation in the UK announced a few more significant opportunities for practising
- fitting their templates of thinking
- ticking their boxes of ‘fundable ideas’
- matching expectations of assessors and other people paid to do their job – without the experience of trying to turn innovation into business.
Will Stott of the Vision & Imaging Network of the IET wants to send me images of ovarian cancer so that I can help him with their classification. Since he is a software developer, we spoke the same kind of language.
And thus I shall keep trying! When I was told that my pain is psychological and that I wouldn’t suffer in old age and was therefore denied an invalidity pension by CERN, I vowed to myself to make pain visible.
